| Stéphanie joined the Institute in November 2004 to work on IR VECSELs. The topic of her PhD involves thermal investigations and spectral improvements to suit commercial applications such as laser projection display.
Prior to joining the Institute, she graduated with a DEA in Applied Physics and carried out a project at the Spatial Centre (Belgium): she worked on a real time holographic interferometer used to visualise the surface deformations of satellites’ panels. She holds a DESS in Optoelectronics, Signal and Images and her final year project contributed to the measurement and control of pulses produced by the femtosecondes lasers of the Laboratoire pour l’Utilisation des Lasers Intenses (France).
She enjoys hill-walking in her spare time and admits an addiction to dark chocolate.
