Hannah received her BSc (Hons) in Physics from the University of Southampton in 2002. Following this, she joined Prof. Anne Tropper's group at the University of Southampton in the School of Physics and Astronomy as a research student to study towards a PhD in the field of Semiconductor Vertical External Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers (VECSELs). Following this, she remained at Southampton as a Research Assistant in the VECSEL group, working as part of the Terasec consortium focusing on the use of VECSELs for THz generation.
In April 2006, Hannah moved to the Institute of Photonics at the University of Strathclyde, where she is currently working in the Semiconductor Optoelectronic Devices team with Prof. Martin Dawson and Dr Jennifer Hastie, focusing on frequency doubling and mixing of Red VECSELs into the deep UV for Biophotonics applications.
