Photonics21 is one of a number of European Technology Platforms. It is a voluntary association of industrial enterprises and other stakeholders in the field of photonics in Europe. It unites the majority of the leading Photonics industries and relevant R&D stakeholders along the whole economic value chain throughout Europe.

 

  Photonics Knowledge Transfer Network

The Photonics Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) is one of a number of KTNs funded by the UK Technology Strategy Board. It is a powerhouse of interacting networks of businesses and academic groups that are generating new ‘enabling’ optical technologies and successfully applying them commercially in a very diverse range of markets.

Scottish Chapter of IEE/LEOS The field of interest of the society covers lasers, optical devices, optical fibres, and associated lightwave technology, and their applications in systems and subsystems in which quantum electronic devices are key elements.
  Scottish Optoelectronics Association The Scottish Optoelectronics Association (SOA) was launched in October 1994 with the objective of "stimulating economic growth in Scotland through the knowledge, manufacture and application of Optoelectronics."
Strathclyde Chapter of OSA

The Strathclyde Chapter of OSA (SCOSA, pronounced Scotia as in Scotland) was officially created in June 2008. It is set up to bring together students at Strathclyde University who study or have an interest in Optics.
