Welcome to the Institute of Photonics at the
University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Uk

The Institute of Photonics, established in 1996, is a commercially-oriented research unit, part of the University of Strathclyde. The Institute’s key objective is to bridge the gap between academic research and industrial applications and development in the area of photonics.

The Institute of Photonics is based in Strathclyde’s Glasgow city centre campus.The Institute’s semiconductor growth and processing equipment is located at Photonix Ltd on the West of Scotland Science park.

We are part of the Scottish Universities Physics Alliance, SUPA.
